Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter

  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed

  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, or cashews)

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

  • 2 scoop (about 30g) vanilla protein powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

Optional Add-Ins

  • Chia seeds

  • Hemp seeds

  • Unsweetened shredded coconut

  • Cocoa powder

  • Dried fruit (such as raisins or cranberries)

  • Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, ground flaxseed, chopped nuts, protein powder, and any optional add-ins of your choice. Stir until well combined.

  2. Add the peanut butter, honey/ maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the dry ingredients. Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated and the mixture starts to come together. If the mixture seems too dry, you can add a little more peanut butter or honey/maple syrup.

  3. Once the mixture is well combined and holds together when pressed, use your hands to roll it into small balls, about 2cm in diameter. If desired, you can roll the balls in shredded coconut, cocoa powder, or additional chopped nuts for extra flavor and texture.

  4. Place the rolled protein balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Place them in the refrigerator or freezer for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  5. Once the protein balls have chilled and are firm to the touch, transfer them to an airtight container for storage. They can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.

  6. Enjoy the protein balls as a convenient and nutritious snack anytime you need a quick energy boost or post-workout refuel!
